Services

Falmouth Pediatric Associates is a pediatric primary care office.

Here are some of the services we offer:

Experienced, Caring Providers

Our 3 pediatricians are board-certified with a combined experience of over forty years. You can book well-child appointments with any of the pediatricians.

Your Pediatric Medical Home

We want you to consider us your pediatric medical home. We are here to help with factors in your life that affect your child’s health. For some people, this is access to care or insurance. For others, it is could be safe or affordable housing and for some it is emotional health and safety. We can help connect you with services for these issues. We follow evidence-based care as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics, integrated behavioral health with our own behavior health specialist and we now have telehealth appointments for appropriate visits. Patients with complex conditions or severe medical illnesses will get help with care coordination. To this end, Falmouth Pediatrics is currently pursuing official Medical Home designation by the National Center on Quality Assurance.

We have MyChart

Connected to the Epic electronic medical record, MyChart allows you to access your child’s medical information, including test results, office visit notes, letters, and health forms. In the future, it will allow you to contact us directly electronically.

Due to privacy laws, there are some restrictions on parents’ ability to access the health information of their teenage children.

To get an access code for signup, call the office at 508-540-1801.

Well Visits

  • Our well visit schedule is as follows:
  • 1 week
  • 1 month
  • 2 month
  • 4 month
  • 6 month
  • 9 month
  • 12 month
  • 15 month
  • 18 month
  • 2 year
  • Yearly from age 3 up to 21 year
  • We try to bring well infants in the early part of the morning in order to avoid exposure to sick children. Routine immunizations and other health screening are performed at well visits according to recommended guidelines.

Immunizations

We consider protecting your child from serious infections to be one of our most important functions as a pediatric home. We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics general immunization schedule, and the Center for Disease Control recommendations for special situations. For more details click on “Immunization” tab from the “Common Concerns” dropdown. Following the correct timing of vaccines is extremely important to us- we want your child fully protected as soon as possible. However, we will always listen carefully to concerns and do our best to work with parents who have special requests.

Special Testing

In addition to immunizations, we will routinely check lead levels and hemoglobin (to look for anemia) in young children. Hearing and vision screening is typically done at age 5 years. Urine testing is done as needed, as is tuberculosis skin testing. We recently began in-office cholesterol screening. For asthmatics, lung function testing (called spirometry) can be done.

Sick Visits

Sick children need timely care. You can call at any time to discuss your sick child. A real person will answer your call during office hours. If your child’s illness sounds like it should best be cared for at home, we will give you tips on what to do and what to watch for. If your child needs to be seen, we will always try to bring you in the same day.

On Call Coverage

After hours and on weekends, you can access care by calling our office phone number. Our pediatricians share call coverage with Bramblebush Pediatrics in Falmouth and Cape Cod Pediatrics in Sandwich. There is a nurse or physician available to speak to after hours every day of the year. In addition, urgent care appointments are available on weekends and holidays.

Consultations

Every time your child is seen, we want you to leave feeling that your concerns have been addressed. Sometimes a regular visit is just not enough to do this. This is particularly true for behavioral concerns such poor attention span or anxiety, or if your child has complicated healthcare needs. For this reason, you can schedule an end of the day appointment. This way we can all take the time required to have an in-depth discussion and make a good plan.

Expecting Parent Visit

As a new parent, you will naturally have a lot of questions. We are happy to arrange an appointment to discuss them with you. Go to Expecting Parents for more info.
